How a review works

  1. Primary referencesEach compound is checked against PubChem, CAS Common Chemistry and UniProt. Where those sources are silent, as with some storage and solubility data, established reagent supplier documentation is used and cited.
  2. Line by line checkThe reviewer checks identity, sequence, molecular formula, molecular weight, CAS number, form, storage and solubility statements, and confirms the research use only wording.
  3. Corrections logEvery change is recorded with the original text, the corrected text, the reason and the source. Corrections are applied to the product page and to the compound library.
  4. Sign offThe reviewer approves the final published text. Each reviewed page shows the reviewer and the review date, and any later edit is checked again before the date is updated.

Independence

Reviewers are independent scientists engaged per project. They are paid for their review time, not for any outcome, and they are free to correct anything they find. Batch testing is separate: every batch is tested by an independent, U.S.-based third-party laboratory, and every certificate is kept in the COA archive. Compound specifications are in the compound library.
